Jewelry - Northern Lights Reflecting in Water
I do rarely arrive right when the northern lights appear (often a little late, sometimes too late) but this time I did. A narrow arch appeard in the north just as i arrived. I did not have to wait long before the aurora grew brighter.
The activity went up and down a little in the beginning. It was +5 degrees Celsius (39°F) and although there was not much wind it was still enough to feel a little cold.
The arch rising from the sea suddenly looked like a tripple structure that grew along the single line arch. A fascinating thing to see.
Then the northern lights put in the next gear and leveled up big time. The moment I had been waiting for had finally come.
Within a few minutes minutes the northern lights started taking up a lot of the sky and became so bright that I didn’t have to use my lamp when walking around on the rocks. They were all green coloured. At a few points I had a hard time deciding which way to point my camera.
I’m not sure I would want a first time aurora watcher to see the aurora like this. Unless, of course, you plan to see it only once in your entire life. Then this is definitely it!
When the aurora started fading out and the cloud cover came closer I started packing my bag, getting ready to leave. Then the sky to the west suddenly turned red, with green lines in front of it …
One final reflection: I did not take the photo.
It was given to me.
