SOULSCAPE – Nature Photo Print
Take a close look at the picture! This land is rising from the sea. At this location pictured here it rises by a little less than 1 mm per year. It may sound very little, but the sea is shallow so during a lifetime the coastline can move many metres outwards. This is caused by the thick ice sheet at the last ice age that pressed the land down. Now it is slowly rising again. The ice, when melting, also caused these De Geer-moraines, the landforms you can see here.
They form a strange repetitive pattern of elongated islands. I grew up in Western Finland so this has always been part of my neighbourhood. I love our beautiful archipelago. It’s for the most part peaceful and intact. I took this photo as I visited the Kvarken World Heritage in August 2017. I had no intention of taking any fine art photos there and then, but standing there with this view in front of me I changed my mind and I took a bunch of photos to create an HDR image from.
The complete story comes only with the Deluxe version so you can learn everything about it and be able to tell the story to anyone who sees it on your wall.
